Corie Schofield Eliason began the violin at age 4 in Sacramento, California. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from Utah State University, where she studied with Rebecca McFaul, violinist of the Fry Street Quartet. She continued her studies at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music earning her Master’s degree, studying with Blair Milton, violinist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Some of her accomplishments include winning the Colorado Loveland Chamber Orchestra Concerto Competition, Wyoming Festival for Strings Concerto Competition, Utah State University Concerto Competition, and the MTNA Regional Concerto Competition in Honolulu, Hawaii. Corie currently runs a private violin studio in Salt Lake City.
Growing up in Colorado and Utah instilled in Corie a love for the mountains. She enjoys hiking, backpacking, and skiing. Besides being in the outdoors, some of her hobbies include reading, sewing, knitting, cooking with her husband, and dancing with her two kids.
